Canada Condemns Attack on Kabul

The Embassy of Canada in Afghanistan strongly condemns the attack that occurred in Kabul ’s Shar-e-Naw locality Friday that killed at least seven people, including two Afghan policemen, and injured several others.

“Canada is in Afghanistan at the request of the democratically elected Afghan government, and as part of a UN-mandated, NATO-led mission. Canada’s continuing objective is to help Afghans build a stable and secure country based on the fundamental values of democracy, human rights and the rule of law.”

“Attacks such as today’s bombing will not deter Canada or its international partners from its commitment to support Afghans in their efforts to create a stable, democratic and self-sufficient society. The embassy extends its deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed and injured in this senseless act of violence."
